The Senator meets with CS Agriculture Mithika Linturi.
Hon Allan Chesang has issued Teacher Service Commission employment letters to Teachers in Trans-Nzoia county. He has issued the letters to a few of the Teachers in Trans-Nzoia County. He issued the letters in his Trans-Nzoia office in Kitale. This is coming at a time when the employment situation in the country is not too good.
He spoke to the teachers during this exercise assuring them of his support. He told them it is just the beginning but more TSC opportunities will be available. Hon Chesang listened to the challenges facing teachers in the region and, he assured them they will be tackled. The Trans-Nzoia said “a teachers job is like taking a bunch of live wires and make sure they are well grounded.” The meeting was concluded having agreed on a number of issues presented.
On the same day, the Senator met with the CS for agriculture Hon Mithika Linturi. The CS was inspecting, in company with the Governor of Trans-Nzoia, the distribution of subsidized fertilizer to the farmers. The Senator , who is a member of the agriculture and livestock committee in the Senate, said that Agriculture is very dear to the people of Trans-Nzoia. Therefore, they have no choice but to make agriculture a sustainable business by supporting the farmers.
Hon Mithika Linturi said in his statement to the people present that, the national government is not hesitant in giving full support to the bedrock of agriculture. The government will continue to support the people of Trans-Nzoia through a subsidy program, value addition and agro-processing. Trans-Nzoia senator, Allan Chesang, reiterated that, he will ensure favorable policies are implemented so as to help both the national government and the counties serve the farmers diligently. Governor George Natembeya was present.
