THE SENATOR OF TRANS-NZOIA HON ALLAN CHESANG CHAIRED THE MEETING
The committee on Information, Communication and, Technology, chaired by the Trans-Nzoia Senator Hon Allan Chesang, on the 28th of February held a meeting at Parliament Buildings to consider the Bill digest of The Konza Technopolis Bill, Senate Bill Number 2 of 2023 that was sponsored by Senator Gloria Orwoba.
The committee now awaits submissions of memoranda from the members of the public and other targeted stakeholders to further discuss and deliberate on the bill. If passed by Parliament and assented to by the President, the Bill will establish an authority with Perpetual succession and a common seal to administer the planning, development, and, management of the Konza Technopolis, which is dubbed Africa’s Silicon Valley.
Other members who were present during the meeting were Sen Godfrey Atieno Osotsi of Vihiga county, Sen William Kisang Kipkemoi of Elgeyo Marakwet, Sen Shakila Abdalla Mohamed nominated, and Sen Beatrice Akinyi Ogola who is also a nominated senator.
