SENATOR ALLAN CHESANG PRESENT IN THE ROUNDTABLE LIAISON IN MOMBASA.
In the meeting held in Mombasa and graced by the Speaker of the Senate, Honorable Amason Kingi, they highlighted the importance of partnership between Kenya Private Sector Alliance and the Government. The Speaker has said that the Senate views the roundtable with KEPSA as a key instrument and mechanism in the quest to build partnerships that synergize implementation of Devolution.
Honorable Amos Kingi said that they will remain steadfast to the commitment to cascade resources and investments to the grassroots for sustainable growth and development. The Deputy Speaker has added that they will build collaboration and partnerships with the business community. He, Deputy Speaker, made this statements during the Senate Liaison committee roundtable with KEPSA.
Trans-Nzoia Senator, Allan Chesang, also stated that Collaboration is KEY. He has highlighted the importance of the Partnership in enhancing digital skills training to the youth through constituency innovation hubs. This will lead to job creation and economic growth. The ICT Chairman has also pushed for critical infrastructure policy enactment and the Konza Technopolis Bill for investor protection.
In an official remark given by Mr. Nyegenye, the Clerk of the Senate, he has said that that the meeting will provide a platform for the private sector and the senate to engage in a constructive dialogue. Whereby, they will identify key areas where the private sector can contribute to the country’s development agenda. This will address issues that affect business environment in Kenya.
The Senate Clerk concluded by stating that in involving the private sector in policy development process, legislation is more likely to be implemented pragmatically. Honorable Allan Chesang concluded his remarks by urging the partners to drive Kenya’s Infrastructure, Communication and, Technology (ICT), sector forward. Trans-Nzoia Senator has been a champion in spearheading the Kenya ICT agenda in different Government bodies, parastatals and at the counties.
